Andy Griffith Show (DVD) One of the most famous show goat and beloved programs from American television`s golden age, THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW ran from 1960 to 1968. Star Andy Griffith essentially plays himself as a widowed sheriff, raising his young son Opie (Ron Howard) in the rural small town of Mayberry, North Carolina. As the town sheriff, Andy must deal with the assorted characters around town, like kindly Aunt Bee, dopey but friendly Gomer Pyle, rambunctious town drunk Otis, show goat and of course Andy`s soft-hearted deputy Barney Fife (Don Knotts).
